General comments
Asymptomatisch dragerschap alleen behandelen met contactamoebicide middel (clioquinol of paromomycine)
Entamoeba dispar (apathogeen): geen behandeling.
Paromomycine is in Nederland niet geregistreerd. Apotheken kunnen het middel met een artsenverklaring bestellen.
LET OP! Behandeling invasieve/symptomatische infectie (metronidazol) ALTIJD direct vervolgen met contactamoebicide behandeling (clioquinol of paromomycine).
